In the late 1980’s and throughout the 1990’s, I portrayed John Neely Bryan, founder of Dallas, for numerous events in the Dallas area. It was extremely difficult researching Bryan for my role; information was scattered and of questionable reliability. There were several competing opinions on who he really was as a person. I wish Steven Butler’s biography “John Neely Bryan: The Father Of Dallas” had been around at the time because it would have made life a lot easier. Butler has researched and gathered together all the information I know of that is available on Bryan along with a bunch of stuff I had not seen. Butler has organized it well and explained it coherently. What I like best is that he has evaluated the information as to reliability and thrown in some educated opinions. Well done.Product details
